Livia Quan is a senior associate
of the firm with ten years of experience in ERISA and employee
benefit plans. She was formerly a senior associate in the
Legal/Compliance Unit of Mercer Human Resource
Consulting's retirement practice group. Livia had prior ERISA positions with Putnam
Investments and the U.S. Department of Labor. She specializes in designing, implementing and amending
defined contribution and defined benefit plans, (including individually designed and prototype plans), structuring and carrying out plan terminations, and obtaining rulings from government agencies. She also advises
clients and senior executives on matters related to executive compensation and benefits issues arising in corporate transactions and bankruptcy. Livia has broad experience in resolving a wide array of compliance and audit issues with the DOL, IRS and PBGC as well as claims by participants and beneficiaries.
Livia is admitted to practice in
Massachusetts and is a member of the American,
Massachusetts, and Boston Bar Associations. She received
her B.A., with distinction, from the University of
Rochester (1992) and her J.D. from Suffolk University Law
School (1996).
