Before practicing law, she served as
Benefits Director of the TJX Companies, Inc. Sheila is
admitted to practice in Massachusetts and is a member of
the Massachusetts and Boston Bar Associations. She
received her B.A. from Michigan State University (1969),
her J.D. from Suffolk University Law School (1981), and
her LL.M. in Taxation from Boston University School of
Law (1987).
Apart from the firm, Rick is currently a special contract advisor to the General Counsel of the Commonwealth Health Insurance Connector Authority with respect to Section 125 cafeteria plans, commercial insurance and group health plan issues related to COBRA, HIPAA and ERISA. He authored the Health Connector regulation, 956 CMR 4.00, implementing the cafeteria plan requirement under the new Massachusetts health care reform law and developed the Health Connector's template cafeteria plan documents. Rick has been a lecturer for the New England Employee Benefits Council and was a major contributor to the last rewrite of the BNA Tax Management Portfolio on Code Section 125 Cafeteria Plans. Rick has spoken as a Health Connector representative at numerous employer forums and panels on Massachusetts health care reform, including those sponsored by Associated Industries of Massachusetts, the Mass Bar Association, New England Employee Benefits Council and the ERISA Industry Committee. Rick is a graduate of UMass Amherst and received his law degree, cum laude, from Marquette University Law School (1985). He is admitted to practice in Massachusetts, the U.S. District Court (MA) and Wisconsin.
